My Dad Died

None of us lives for himself [for his own benefit, but for the Lord], and none of us dies for himself [but for the Lord].

If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. So then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

For Christ died and lived again for this reason, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

Romans 14:7-9 AMP

On Thursday, July 18 2024 my father passed away.

Nothing could have prepared me from this separation and the impact it has had on me

The words in the title flowed out of me two weeks after Dad’s departure.

They caused a pause in my despair somehow sobering me.

Daily, God, please help me and my family to grieve well.

I need Your comfort with every breath.

Holy Spirit, please help me articulate to You how I feel and to let my tears flow.

Help me Jesus.

Abba Father in heaven, please increase my capacity of dependence on You.

In Jesus’ Name I ask.

Amen

Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Isaiah 53:4 LSB

You have seen me tossing and turning through the night. You have collected all my tears and preserved them in your bottle! You have recorded every one in your book. Psalm 56:8 Living Bible
